A federal grand jury yesterday indicted a South Carolina resident for allegedly mailing threats to assassinate U.S. President George W. Bush, employ biological agents against other officials and launch a devastating assault on a Navy prison, the Associated Press reported (see GSN, Jan. 13).
Steven Cucuzzella, 25, sent the threats last September, according to prosecutors. He is currently detained at the Naval Consolidated Brig at Charleston, the facility he said he could attack.
Cucuzzella has been charged with threatening the president and mailing threatening communications (Associated Press/Augusta Chronicle, Jan. 13).
