Cambodian leaders have signed off on a draft law to ban weapons of mass destruction in the country, the Xinhua News Agency reported today (see GSN, Sept. 13, 2007).
"The draft law will help guarantee security, public orders, environment protection and welfare of our people, and also contribute to protecting security and peace in the region and in the whole world," the Council of Ministers said in a statement.
Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen approved the measure, which bars production, stockpiling, use and other activities involving biological, chemical, radiological and nuclear weapons (Xinhua News Agency, March 20).
